What Sponsorship Covers
Chain of Love is not an institution. It is made up of nine homes with house parents, where the husband has his regular job and the mother gets a stipend for taking care of the children at home.
Sponsorships cover expenses that would occur in any household: food, some clothing, schooling and school supplies, medical costs, transportation to and from church and school, the mother’s salary, utilities, laundry supplies, cleaning supplies, etc. In other words, it covers everything it takes to run a home.
Some children need extra help with their studies and some need psychological help. This extra teacher and the psychologist receive a salary, as does the social worker and the rest of the support staff that Chain of Love employs in order to provide the life that we do to our children.
Chain of Love is not part of the NAB budget, so all funds to pay for the children’s needs must be raised through sponsorships and gifts to our general fund. Construction and special projects are funded separately. Some children, of course, need more than others, especially if they are in higher grades in school or if they have special medical needs. Unlike organizations such as World Vision that help needy children get food, clothing, and an education while living in their own homes, Chain of Love also provides a home and a family for our children.
