Alexsandro - House 2
Alexsandro was born September 13, 1996. He comes to the homes with his brother Jorge. They were both born in the capital city of our state, Porto Alegre, but soon found themselves in the beach city of Cidreira.
There are 5 children in all, the other three having been given away, and all from different fathers. Alexsandro and Jorge were practically left to fend for themselves and were not taken care of. The mother is an alcoholic and drug user. The grandmother is a severe alcoholic and has threatened to kill the boys.
Alexsandro has suffered neglect but also physical and psychological aggression as well as being the target of promiscuous acts either from the two adults in his life or their friends.
There are no relatives that can take the boys in. They were put in the half way house and the social workers tried to detox the adults but to no avail. In the end parental rights were taken away and the boys were sent to us. Alexsandro was in a special school for impaired learning but we hope to better his schooling once he normalizes in our homes.
2008 Update: Alexandro is eleven years old and in grade one at school. He works to dry the dishes and sweep the garage floor at home. He loves to play with cars and lego blocks in his spare time. He is very playful and fun-loving and enjoys teasing others. He attends Sunday School and is learning about the Lord. He is saved but not yet baptized. He would love to play the drums one day in church. Please pray for the development of his mind, since he is functioning at about the level of a five year old.
2009 Update: Alexsandro is adjusting well to his new house parents. He is respectful and obedient. At times he is mischievous and wanting to be the centre of attention. Please pray that Alexsandro would experience more success at school, especially in Math.
