Jorge - House 2
Jorge was born June 28, 2001. He comes to the homes with his older brother. They were both born in the capital city of our state, Porto Alegre, but soon found themselves in the beach city of Cidreira.
There are 5 children in all, the other three having been given away, and all from different fathers. Jorge and his older brother were practically left to fend for themselves and were not taken care of. The mother is an alcoholic and drug user. The grand mother is a severe alcoholic and has threatened to kill the boys.
Jorge has suffered neglect but also physical and psychological aggression as well as being the target of promiscuous acts either from the two adults in his life or their friends. There are no relatives that can take the boys in. They were put in the half way house and the social workers tried to detox the adults but to no avail. In the end parental rights were taken away and the boys were sent to us.
2008 Update: Jorge is six years old and in grade one. At home he dries the dishes. He is a loving boy who enjoys playing with lego blocks and video games. He attends Sunday School and asks many questions about spiritual things and so is growing in the Lord. However he does tend to fight a lot at school and we are asked to pray that he might have a heart of love.
2009 Update: Jorge is now succeeding to do his school homework as he works at it with his house mother. At school he finds it difficult to copy the work from the blackboard and finish all his work in class. Please pray that he would improve in Science at school and understand more at church.
