Roni - House 8
Marciano Roni dos Santos. His birthday is August 8, 1993. He is called Roni as his twin brother Robi has the same first name as he does.
These boys came to us in January of 1997 and we want to share a little of their history with you so that you can understand their background and pray more effectively. They came to us with an older brother and sister which we were blessed to be able to keep the family together.
They have been placed with Nair and Enaldir. They felt at home right away. These boys and Queli, their sister, would scrap so badly that blood was drawn. The children were forcefully taken away from the father who is totally negligent and close to dying from alcoholism. They have known no other existence. Pray that as the years pass, that the boys will learn to deal with their anger in a more constructive way. They have come a long way already but are still aggressive children.
2008 Update: Roni is fourteen years old and in grade six at school. He has not yet decided on a future goal. At home he works well to help his house parents. His chore is to sweep the downstairs areas of the house. He enjoys playing soccer in his spare time. He is active in the Sunday School and worship services at church and is stable in his spiritual life. He has accepted Christ and been baptized. Please pray for Roni that he would grow spiritually and that the Lord would help him to choose a profession.
2009 Update: Although Roni finds Math difficult in school, his other marks are a lot better this year. He has recently joined and is a talented member of a hip hop group that does different dances for youth meetings at our church. He asks us to pray that he will pass Grade 6 this year.
