Robi - Transition Home
Robi and his twin brother came to us in January of 1997. We want to share a little of their history with you so that you can understand their background and pray more effectively. They came to us with an older brother and sister. We were able to keep the family together. They have been placed with Nair and Enaldir. They felt at home right away.
These boys and Queli, their sister, would scrap so badly that blood was drawn. The children were forcefully taken away from the father who was totally negligent and close to dying from alcoholism. They have known no other existence. Pray that as the years pass, that the boys will learn to deal with their anger in a more constructive way. They have come a long way already but are still aggressive children.
Robi is quite the funny little boy. He has a great sense of humour and always wants to make you laugh. Currently he is 11 almost 12 years old and he does very well in school. He is also taking an English class. He likes to watch tv, and play with his brothers. He is close to his family at Chain of Love. His house parents are Enaldir and Nair. He sometimes has difficulty sitting still in church.
Update: Robi likes to eat meat pckets. He has the habit of topping them off with mayonnasie., In one instance, the whole jar dumped onto the top of his meat pocket. The others laughed.
January 2007 Update: Robison is 13 and in 7th grade. Robi has prayed to receive Christ but has not asked for baptism. At church he goes to Sunday School, and the adolescent group. At COL he took the computer and the English course. He also plays soccer on a team. Robi is quiet but can be a tease. He is obedient, responsible, and does his chores. He enjoys singing.
Main Prayer Request: Pray that Robi would continue well in school and that he would grow in his faith.
2008 Update: Robison is fourteen years old and in grade seven at school. He has no future goal as yet. At home his chore is to wash the supper dishes and his house parents find him to be a good helper. In his spare time he enjoys a game of soccer. He attends Sunday School, has accepted Christ as his Saviour and is stable in his spiritual life. Please pray that Robison would affirm his Christian commitment and be baptized.
2009 Update: Robison has been playing soccer on a community team and has recently been asked to try out for a more advanced team. His challenge is to continue with his soccer playing and also focus on his studies at school. Please pray that he would be chosen to join this better team (Flaminginho), and be able to get good marks at school, as this is a pre-requisite for joining the team.
