Pablo - House 5
Pablo came to us in November 1999 along with an older sister Bruna who is 2 years older than him. We have included the original history of him here. Not much is to be said about his case. Each of the children is from a different father. This can be seen just by looking at them. The mother is a young prostitute who had abandoned 4 children over the course of time.
Pablo and his sister came to us from the half way house in our city. While there, they had chicken pox along with all the other children. They must have been a handful to take care of as they had lice and sarna (a small worm just under the skin) as well. Pablo was an easy baby to take care of. He eats well, plays a lot and is constantly smiling and very loving.
Pablo is now 6 years old and started school this year. He did not like it at first but is now getting used to it. He can often be seen running around without a shirt or shoes on. He is very active and likes to show off. He is a taking a praise and worship class at our technical center. May the Lord help Pablo grow physically and spiritually.
Update: We have found that Pablo hates to be alone. Someone always has to be standing around the corner talking to him while his is taking his shower. Otherwise we have one little dirty boy on our hands!
January 2007 Update: Pablo is 7 years old and in grade 1. He has made a decision for Christ but needs to grow. Pablo is still very immature, but is getting better especially since his house has received smaller ones. At church he sang in the Christmas cantata and is active in Sunday School. He likes to sing, has great motor skills and computer skills.
Main Prayer Request: that he will mature more and be able to learn how to read and write.
2008 Update: Pablo is nine years old and in grade two. One day he would like to be a policeman. At home he sweeps the garage and outside patio. In his spare time he likes to fish, play and watch television. He is a sweet, loving child. At church he is active in Sunday School and Boys’ Club. He enjoys giving out tracts and other literature from the church. He is growing in his Christian life, praying when requested and has asked the Lord into his heart.
Pablo has neurological problems which make it difficult for him to concentrate. Please pray that these problems will diminish.
2009 Update: Although Pablo has Attention Deficit Disorder he now needs less medication in order to concentrate. Please pray for him to pass Grade 3 this year. He finds the subjects of Math and Portuguese especially difficult and does not sleep well at night.
