Franciele - House 1
Franciele Deves de Oliveira is presently 12 years old. Her birthday falls on July 17, 1993. Franciele is not from our city. She is from another city an hour removed from us. Her mother brought her often to see her grand mother, and during one of these visits, told of her father abusing or trying to abuse her. When the social services heard about this they put her in the half way house to clarify the situation. She had to be there for 3 months and the situation was getting more and more complicated.
The grandmother already takes care of other grand children, and the whole family is involved in robbery, drug trafficking and prostitution. The grand mother has not been given the guardianship because of this. The mother also told a lot of lies in court and now the situation is being investigated. Franciele has another older cousin in the half way house and another two cousins that have been with us for some time. We really can see how evil can work its way into a family and destroy it from all sides.
Franciele is presently in grade 5. She is adapting well to the other children in the home where she has been put at Chain of Love. Franciele is a mild mannered girl and loves being with us.
Franciele has such a tender heart. Through all the things that she has gone, she still remains happy. She is a great help to her house mom around the house. Franciele was baptized May 15, 2005.
January 2007 Update: Franciele is 13 years old and in 5th grade. She has made a decision for Christ and is baptized. At the homes she has been involved in the culinary course. Franciele is involved in the adolescent group at church and the Christmas cantata. She has grown to be very well behaved and she demonstrates that she is at peace with God, herself and with others. She has very good behaviour and is very sensitive to the Holy Spirit. She senses God’s calling on her life.
Main Prayer Request: to be able to progress better in school and to continue being sensitive to God’s voice.
2008 Update: Franciele is fourteen years old and in grade six. Her work at home is to clean the kitchen. When she has spare time she enjoys looking at newspapers or magazines. She loves to be with little children and her future goal is to care for babies. She is a very loving and helpful girl who is quick to ask for forgiveness when she has wronged someone. She is active in the Sunday School and in the adolescents’ group at church. She is growing well in her spiritual life and has received Christ as her Saviour and been baptized.
Please pray that Franciele might gain good discretion because at times she says things at an inappropriate time.
2009 Update: Franciele has succeeded in finding part time work recently, filing important documents at a bank. She continues to go to school as well. In grade 7 she finds the math difficult and prays that she would pass her grade this year. She also prays that her biological family would come to know Jesus.
